The company's customers come in search of our know-how, and they accept the need to pay premium prices for bespoke products manufactured in modest quantities and for the expert advice that goes with it. This is emphatically not a bulk manufacturer of paint.
We have a unique database of thousands of colour specifications created by numerous car, bus, tractor, truck, boat etc manufacturers, most of which ceased business several decades ago. When the bodywork and mechanicals of the vehicle, boat etc have been restored at considerable cost, the final piece of authenticity comes from applying the original colour scheme. Using our database we make precisely what they need, and advise on its correct application.
In addition to the hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts worldwide who rebuild classic and vintage vehicles, there is a sizeable worldwide industry of professional restorers, and most customers are in those two categories. There is a huge national and international network of owners clubs and restoration societies, and they provide excellent routes into this very large market. Recently we have started to expand by entering the specialised historic/listed building market.
The company is very small, but determined not to stay small. We have specialist knowledge and importantly credibility (word of mouth is important). We have production capacity. We have ambition and we are geared up for a step change - and now we are looking for finance to carefully ramp up our marketing and provide additional working capital, but equally importantly we are looking for one or more directors who will (probably non exec) enjoy helping the company generate more profit.
