The company's first sales were 2 years ago, but until now it has mainly focused on product development and on establishing a market presence. Initially it has targeted the entertainment sector, and its lighting has been used on a number of high profile TV shows and film productions including Casino Royale (the latest James Bond film). The UK market is £200m, worldwide over £2bn. The company is seeking capital for expansion: its focus has now shifted to sales, ultimately including entry to markets other than entertainment. It has recently established important relationships with dealers in several overseas markets.
The company designs, sells and at present manufactures a range of lighting equipment for specialist commercial/industrial users (please do not confuse this with residential, fashion-led or high volume lighting). Its products are innovative, and exploit advances in Light Emitting Diode (LED) technology. They are feature packed, yet reliable. The company’s intellectual property is valuable, and patent and copyright protection has been put in place whenever possible.
The company’s name is already well known, and is synonymous with high quality and flexible LED lighting products. Through a significant new relationship, one of the largest and most respected distribution companies in this field will sell these products into new markets in the UK and some markets overseas.
Private investment of £100k is being sought, to coincide with the intended £100k equity investment by a professionally managed regional venture capital fund. A bank loan of £150k under the SFLGS will complete the package.
